Obtaining/Managing FRN

Step 1: Click Here and register for to receive your FRN.
Step 2: Click Here to log into your account.

If you have a license it will automatically bring you to your licenses where you can view and print, or submit modifications on the left hand menu bar.
If you do NOT have a license you must do one of the following based on your goals:


GMRS Goal:
Step 1: Log into your FCC ULS Account with your FRN and Password.
Step 2: On the left hand Menu bar select "Apply for a New license"
Step 3: At the very bottom of the drop down menu select "ZA - General Mobile Radio Service"
Step 4: Follow the application process and prompts.
Note: It may take up to a week for you to receive your callsign via email on record with the FCC ULS. This license costs 35$ and is valid for 10 years, learn more about it on the Radio Service Comparison page.


HAM Radio Goal:
Step 1: After obtaining your FRN register for a test session to test for your amateur radio license.
The Amateur Radio test is broken into (3) license classes Technician, General, and Extra. Each class license builds upon the last and provides more frequency authorizations and abilities. The first test you will take is the Technician test which is a (35) multiple choice exam that you need at least a 74% to pass. This license is also a 35$ fee valid for 10 years. Upgrades to the next license class are free.
